Carl Froch has hailed Ryan Garcia's win over Devin Haney and suggested who he'd like to see him face next.
Garcia put in the performance of his career on Saturday, putting heavily fancied Haney to the floor three times before eventually taking the 12-round fight on a points decision.
Speaking on his podcast Froch on Fighting, the former world champion praised Garcia and stated he'd like to see him now face Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in a rematch.
He said: "Regardless of what Ryan Garcia does next, I’d like to see the Gervonta Davis fight at a catchweight, but regardless of what Ryan Garcia does next he just needs to be given massive credit. That was a fantastic win.
“I don’t think he was in the best possible shape and he still pulled it off. Everyone thought Haney was invisible, too sharp, too fast, too well repaired. Garcia's got in there quite relaxed and nonchalant, talking madness in the build-up and put on a great performance.
“The only fight he’s lost is to Davis, he lost to a body shot while drained at the weight, so if you cancel off that loss and then this is Garcia back to his best.”
