Carl Froch tells Chris Eubank Jr to aim for bigger fights; namedrops Billy Joe Saunders rematchDAZN
Carl Froch wants to see Chris Eubank Jr in the ring with bigger names — including someone he has already faced in the past.

Carl Froch has urged Chris Eubank Jr to target big fights so his career can return to boxing’s highest level.

Eubank, a fighter who has shared the ring with Billy Joe Saunders, George Groves and James DeGale, went through the gears last weekend as he stopped Germany’s Wanik Awdijan in five rounds in Newcastle.

The fight, something of a mismatch, allowed Eubank the opportunity to strengthen his relationship with new trainer, Roy Jones Jr, but it’s a long way from the gloried platform he once operated on.

Carl Froch, a former world champion at 168lbs, has identified the next step for Eubank after being ringside for his most recent victory.

"The Liam Williams fight is a good fight, but he definitely, 100 percent needs to now get a move on," said Froch when speaking to Sky Sports

“We need to see him in there with a big name, or a bigger name. Maybe the Billy Joe Saunders rematch. I quite like that fight.

“When people start pricing themselves out of the fight, that's when you realise that maybe they don't want the fight. We need to see Chris Eubank Jr in with a big name and we need to see a performance, because the time is nigh, it really is."
