Brian Norman Jr. wants to become undisputed welterweight champion and is targeting the remaining belts in the division.
The unbeaten 23-year-old was recently elevated to full champion after Terence Crawford moved up to 154lbs, with Norman’s last fight winning him the interim belt when he stopped Giovani Santillan.
There are three other champions in the division after Crawford’s exit: Mario Barrios with the WBC, IBF champion Jaron Ennis, and Eimantis Stanionis with the WBA strap.
Norman wants to fight each and every one of them, which would recreate Crawford’s feat of becoming undisputed at welterweight.
"It's still a wonderful feeling, but I feel like there's a lot more to do," Norman said of his achievements, reported BoxingScene. "There are still three more belts out there to get, so I'm not satisfied with just that one.”
He continued: "I just want unifications. I don't care who’s next. I don't care what the order is. I just want my belts. I was already believing that I was the champion anyway, so that part of it was no different.
"It just lit the fire. The fact that I am the champion now just solidifies that. Now I am targeted, so I have to step up my assassin game and terminate everybody that steps in the ring with me – even worse. I must eliminate every target that gets in the ring."
