Charlo or Golovkin? Jaime Munguia's chances after knocking out Gonzalo Coria in MexicoDAZN

With an excellent position in numerous rankings, Jaime Munguia knows that a chance to become a two-weight world champion isn't far away.

After destroying Gonzalo Coria on Saturday night in an event that was shown worldwide on DAZN, Munguia did his part and will now hope that in 2023 he can get the fight he has been asking for.

Ahead of the Coria showdown, Oscar de la Hoya, Munguia's promoter, tweeted:

"I feel very confident if he wins tonight on DAZN that I can make a Charlo fight in 1st quarter of next year."

However, before Charlo - who has a back injury - there was already the idea of facing Gennady Golovkin, who currently holds the WBA and IBF middleweight titles.

Before being crowned the WBO world light middleweight champion in 2018, Munguía had asked for a fight with GGG, but the negotiations fell through, so now, four years later, and sharing the same weight class, he hopes he can finally make the fight happen.

Due to his position in the WBC rankings - where Charlo is champion - Munguia could face Carlos Adames for an interim belt, but with a record of 41-0, the Mexican is a worthy challenger to any of the champions.
