The two Britons could meet down the line given their weight difference.

Chris Eubank Jr. said the prospect of fighting Conor Benn made him laugh, but he is open to meeting him in the ring.

Benn fights at welterweight while Eubank Jr. is a middleweight, putting 13lbs between them, and Benn suggested on Saturday night that the pair could fight at a catchweight to meet in the middle.

Both the British fighters have title ambitions for 2022 so any match-up appears a long way off, and with Benn seven years younger than 32-year-old Eubank, the middleweight thinks he has the advantage should they meet.

Any fight would recall the famous bouts between their fathers, Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn, and could bring in plenty of spectators, so it is no surprise the possibility has not been completely shot down.

"We're so far apart in terms of where we are in our careers," Eubank Jr told Sky Sports. "We're not in the same weight class. If he's able to move up in weight then I'm open to it.

"He tweeted after the fight that he fancies his chances. That's strong words. I giggled when I saw that because he obviously doesn't know what it really would take to get in the ring with me.

"Further down the line, in a few years if he can make the weight, then let's go."
