A potential Kell Brook vs. Chris Eubank Jr showdown would be a ‘summer blockbuster.’ That’s the opinion of Kalle Sauerland, Eubank’s promoter, who is currently involved in negotiations to make the domestic clash a reality in 2022.
The Brighton man began the year in impressive fashion as he dropped former world title challenger, Liam Williams, four times on his way to a dominant points win. Brook followed that up with a destructive performance against Amir Khan when he stopped his great rival in six rounds after a one-sided drubbing.
With the fighters in question two weights apart, details will have to be agreed on what weight the potential bout will take place with Brook eager to bring Eubank Jr down as much as possible.
The Sheffield fighter has gone as high as 160lbs earlier in his career, but that ended in disaster as he was stopped by Gennadiy Golovkin.
"I can confirm that we had meetings with Boxxer last week and they are now speaking to Brook," said Sauerland when speaking to Sky Sports.
"We're in a positive dialogue and it's a fight that we would love to get made.
"The question is whether certain issues can be resolved. If everyone is sensible, I can see that happening and I can see it being a big summer blockbuster.”
