Medical concerns over Muratov led to the fight being called off at the 11th hour.

Chris Eubank Jr. had his scheduled fight for Saturday against Anatoli Muratov called off hours before the card at the SSE Arena, Wembley, was due to commence.

The British Boxing Board of Control expressed concerns over the results of Muratov's pre-fight medicals leading to the German, who himself was a late stand-in for original Eubank opponent Sven Elbir, being withdrawn.

European welterweight champion David Avanesyan will now main event the card against Liam Taylor in a title fight initially slated for the chief support slot.

“Obviously we are all disappointed that Chris Eubank Jr. can no longer compete on tonight’s card, but it is important to make the right decision in the interests of fighters’ health and safety. We’re grateful to the British Board of Boxing Control for the standards they employ to protect that,” said BOXXER’s Ben Shalom to Sky Sports.

“My thoughts go out to Chris, who has had a very difficult time lately. He will come back stronger and remains a key figure in Sky Sports plans. Chris will be returning with a big fight in the next few weeks.
