    Teofimo Lopez is given his backing to Chris Eubank as the middleweight star gets ready to face Conor Benn. 

    The bitter rivals are set to clash on April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as they finally collide after over almost three years of back-and-forth attacks. 

    The family feud, that goes back to the early 1990s thanks to the legendary battles between Chris Sr and Nigel Benn, reached another level in October 2022 when the pair almost fought then. 

    The bout was agreed, and the anticipation was high, but an adverse finding on Benn’s pre-fight drug test meant that the fight would be postponed . 

    This took the hostilities to a new level as Benn continued to prove his innocence despite Eubank Jr doubting him on every occasion.

    In the end, both fighters would go down different routes as they pushed on with their careers despite their personal feelings remaining intact. 

    Eubank Jr would engage in a terrific two-fight series against Liam Smith where the pair traded wins in high-profile bouts. 

    Benn pushed on more quietly with his most notable fight being a points win over New York’s Peter Dobson in Las Vegas . 

    Now the fight is back on and the whole boxing world is talking about it including Lipez, the current ruler at super-lightweight. 

    “If you wanna talk that s--t then I’m gonna talk it back and I’m gonna say Chris Eubank,” said Lopez when speaking to Morson Sport . 

    “I think he’s more seasoned.”
