Chris Eubank Jr was heavily linked to a fight with Conor Benn for early in 2024, but with that fight not currently happening, what other options exist for the Brighton man?
Eubank endured a mixed 2023 as he ended a two-fight series with Liam Smith level, but after claiming the most recent victory in the feud, he’s in a good position to push on.
Most within the boxing industry believed that Eubank Jr would go straight into a bout with Benn following the Smith success, but Benn fought Peter Dobson earlier this month.
Eubank Jr has previously mentioned Canelo as a future opponent, but his promoter, Kalle Sauerland, has offered his thoughts on his man’s next move.
“I’m talking a lot to team Eubank. I spoke to them last night. I’ve got another call with them in the next few days,” said Sauerland when speaking to BoxingScene.
“There are a lot of options. Obviously Janibek [Alimkhanuly] has the WBO title, that’s an interesting fight. There is Kell Brook which is also an interesting fight too. There is Josh Kelly too, which is an interning fight, but that is not one we are currently talking about.”
