Chris Eubank Sr could be in son's corner for Conor Benn fight as Roy Jones Jr decision is not finalisedDAZN

Roy Jones Jr is not confirmed to be in Chris Eubank Jr’s corner when the leading middleweight drops to 157lbs on October 8th to face Conor Benn at London’s O2 Arena.

The recent stages of Eubank’s career that includes wins over Marcus Morrison and Liam Williams have been guided by Jones’ expertise, but Eubank may change that for the biggest fight of his career.

Reigniting a rivalry that made Britain come to a standstill in the early 1990s, Eubank Jr and Benn’s catchweight clash is set to have a similar impact.

Eubank begins the fight a slight favourite and although he and Jones Jr have enjoyed a solid relationship thus far, alterations could be made before fight night approaches.

“That has yet to be decided,’ said Eubank when asked about Jones’ position on Talksport.

“With this type of fight, I would actually like my old man to be in the corner. I told Roy that he would be in the corner for the rest of my career, but this is one fight where I would have my old man there just because what all of this means.”
