Undisputed women's middleweight champion Claressa Shields believes there are three fighters in and around her weight class who could produce an exciting era for women's boxing.
Shields returns to action on Saturday night when she takes on Maricela Cornejo in a fight which will be live on DAZN in select regions, and if she emerges from that encounter victorious, there are a number of big matchups to be made.
In the eyes of Shields, these 'Four Queens' have the potential to meet in what would be a thrilling sequence of fights.
"Right now, thinking about the middleweight division plus super-middleweight division, to talk about 'Four Queens,' we got me, you got Franchon [Crews-Dezurn], you got Savannah Marshall and you have Shadasia Green, if I had to think about the 'Four Queens' right now," Shields told Sky Sports.
Shields already has wins over Crews-Dezurn and Marshall, while Green, who is the WBC mandatory for the organisation's super middleweight belt, will be keeping a close eye on the July 1 when Savannah Marshall and Crews-Dezurn meet for the undisputed title in Manchester.
