Fabio Wardley’s reward for a thrilling encounter with Frazer Clarke could be a fight at Portman Road, the home of Ipswich Town.
The British heavyweight champion retained his belt with a hard-fought draw last month against Clarke and the quality of the bout has made Wardley a big attraction.
With many within the boxing trade expecting Wardley to face Clarke in a rematch, pursuing a world title could also be next for the unbeaten fighter.
Regardless of what happens next for Wardley, Mark Ashton, the CEO at Ipswich Town, has claimed that Wardley is more than welcome to stage a fight at Portman Road.
"We're immensely proud of Fabio for what he has achieved over these past few years," said Ashton when speaking to Sky Sports.
"We've always been open to him fighting at Portman Road in his hometown in front of what will be a huge crowd.
"Of course, with anything, the time needs to be right for both the club and Fabio, but when that time is right, Portman Road will be waiting.”
