Conor Benn is aiming to fight Adrien Broner in 2022 before moving onto a potential fight with Yordenis Ugas.
Benn fought earlier this month to dismantle former world champion Chris Algieri in Liverpool.
“I know what I can do and I planned on making that fight [with Algieri] look the way it did, which was not a test, which is why I kept saying, ‘Why do people keep saying this is a test?’ If he’s a test then there’s a problem,” Benn said to World Boxing News.
“If [Samuel] Vargas was a test then it’s a problem. I keep trying to tell people they’re not tests.”
Benn said that next up, he hopes is another former champion - Adrien Broner.
“I’d like to fight Adrien Broner,” Benn confirmed. “I know he’s not the Broner he once was but it’s a good name on my resume.”
Benn then namechecked current WBA title holder Yordenis Ugas, amongst others.
“Aside from Broner, which I believe Eddie Hearn is trying to make for March or April, I’d like to fight Mikey Garcia, Danny Garcia. I’d like Ugas. I know he’s defending his WBA title. That’s a fight I’d take next. These are fights I’d take next.”
Benn has previously suggested he could fight the winner of Kell Brook vs. Amir Khan, but believes Khan will not be around to fight anyone, and Brook would not want to take him on.
“Amir Khan don’t want it. No chance he will want it. There’d be no way. I’ve spoken to him about it. He’s retiring after the (Brook) fight. Kell Brook, I’d take the fight all day long. I’d fight either of them, but I’ve got more of a chance to fight Jake Paul,” he said. “It’s one of them situations — why would they want to fight me?”
