Conor Benn has wasted no time in calling out Kell Brook.

Kell Brook’s one-sided win over Amir Khan has prompted Conor Benn to call out his domestic rival. Brook’s victory has brought numerous reactions from many within British boxing with many urging the Sheffield star to leave the sport on a high following the most personal win of his career. Benn believes that another domestic scrap should be next for Brook.

Rapidly climbing the welterweight rankings, Benn is eyeing big fights and world titles. Brook falls into the former due to his profile in Britain and it’s a fight that appeals to the Essex man. With Benn set to fight in April, another impressive performance from the young fighter could see him take pole position for a potential summer fight against Brook.

“The big domestics are what we want,” said Benn when speaking to Talksport in the fight’s aftermath. “After Josh Kelly messed up, who is there now for me? Who can I really test myself against? Who claims to be the best in Britain? He is still sharp, he has still got his timing, he has still got accuracy. That makes the fight more realistic.

“I would fight him at 150. It don't bother me or my team. It really don't. I want to get stuck straight in. I fancy that fight next. I just messaged my trainer. I fancy that fight next. That's what I said. If I have to wait, I will wait. If I don't, then I don't. I just want that fight. He claims to be the best in Britain. He looked unbelievable tonight, he looks in shape, he looked great on the scales.”
