The two fighters continued their war of words.

Conor McGregor and Jake Paul went at it on Twitter in the aftermath of the Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano on Saturday night.

Taylor successfully defended her four lightweight titles at Madison Square Garden in New York City in an all-time classic contest shown live on DAZN.

Both Paul and Taylor’s manager Eddie Hearn suggested that a rematch could be made before the end of the year. But with Paul looking for a new opponent for his own professional boxing career, it appears that McGregor would make a willing opponent if the exchange is anything to go by.

McGregor supported fellow Irish fighter Taylor going into the fight an afterwards, tweeted: “Katie Taylor The Greatest! Absolutely incredible boxing! Take a bow ladies! What a contest!”

McGregor then followed up that message with another tweet, mocking Paul’s pink sunglasses.

Inevitably, Paul did not let the insult slide and goaded McGregor by comparing the pair’s achievements.

He tweeted in response: “I’m the one who has done more for fighters than you ever have.

“The one who has won five fights in the past two years while you have lost five.

“The one who isn’t owned by Dana White.

“The one who made the fight you just watched happen.

“The one who got your hero Katie Taylor paid, that’s who.”

McGregor then mocked Paul’s glasses, which may kickstart more rumours that there is a fight to be made between the pair.
