Terence Crawford recently beat Errol Spence Jr. to become the undisputed welterweight champion.

Shakur Stevenson believes Terence Crawford has the attributes to beat the undisputed super middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez if they were to meet.

Crawford is one of boxing's hottest names after beating Errol Spence Jr. this past Saturday in what was a dominant performance to become the undisputed welterweight champion.

Now the sky is the limit for the Omaha fighter who has a number of options when it comes to his next opponent including a potential rematch with Spence at 154lbs, or even challenging for more world honours in higher weight categories.

One name which has been mentioned as a future opponent for Crawford is the Mexican pound-for-pound star, and while "Bud" would have to jump three weight divisions to face Alvarez, Stevenson claims that the 35-year-old could beat the undisputed champion at super middleweight.

“Terence Crawford is running things right now. As for who he should face next, I would love to see him go up against [Jermell] Charlo. Although Charlo is already lined up against Canelo, I genuinely believe Crawford could beat Canelo,” Stevenson told IFL TV

"Being a southpaw with good movement and solid boxing, it would be tough for Canelo to walk Crawford down and load up on his powerful hooks."

While a fight between Crawford and Alvarez would be a huge event, the current undisputed welterweight champion has dismissed the idea of moving up to super middleweight, and instead has his sights set on the light middleweight division.
