Fresh off his win over Bogdan Dinu last weekend, Daniel Dubois is one step closer to putting the misery of his defeat to Joe Joyce in November 2020 behind him.
Dubois was under incredible pressure heading into the Dinu fight but a brilliant right hand in round two confirmed that Dubois’ career was back on track and he now has a list of possibilities in front of him.
With Joyce moving on with his own business due to his lofty ranking with the WBO, it appears a rematch between the British contenders is way off.
Dubois, thanks to Saturday’s win over Dinu, also possesses a high governing body ranking with the WBA, but the topic of a return with Joyce is a constant question he must face.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Toe to Toe Podcast, Dubois gave his thoughts on the only man to beat him as a professional.
"I know I could definitely beat him [Joyce] with some different changes and doing things a little bit differently," he claimed.
"I know that with a bit more experience and just using my tools properly that I have, going about it the right way, I can definitely beat him.
"I definitely want to get revenge and that's part of the comeback. I've got to right the wrongs and just get rid of my errors and my mistakes and hopefully clear it up again with Joe."
Dubois continued, "I'm very confident in myself. I believe now with a bit of help from Shane [McGuigan], the team that he has, and what I've already got and what I've already been doing, the way I train, I've got a great chance of winning a world heavyweight title.”
