Daniel Dubois makes confident prediction ahead of Oleksandr Usyk title fight

Daniel Dubois makes confident prediction ahead of Oleksandr Usyk title fightDAZN

Daniel Dubois is feeling confident that he can get the job done on August 28 when he faces IBF, WBA and WBO world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in Poland.

Dubois is the mandatory challenger for Usyk's WBA belt and was given the opportunity after the Ukrainian's bid to secure an undisputed fight with WBC champion Tyson Fury was unsuccessful.

Many fans are already writing off Dubois' chances of producing an upset, but the 25-year-old challenger believes he is ready to make a statement on the biggest of stages.

"My next target, straight as that," Dubois told BT Sport when asked about how he was feeling following his press conference with Usyk on Thursday.

"I feel that it’s my time, I’m just ready, confident about what I’m going to do to him."

While this meeting with Usyk is by far the biggest test of Dubois' career since turning professional six years ago, the British contender does not seem to be affected by the pressure being placed on his shoulders.

"There’s always pressure, but honestly I’m built for it," Dubois said.

"We’re just ready to go in there and do a job. My team is ready, I’m ready, Frank’s [promoter Frank Warren] behind me, let’s go and get it."
