Daniel Dubois to 'make a statement' against Trevor Bryan in world title fightDAZN

Daniel Dubois wants to make a statement when he faces Trevor Bryan for a world title later this month.

Former Commonwealth and British heavyweight champion Dubois fights Bryan on June 11 in Miami, with the American’s WBA ‘regular’ title on the line.

The winner of that fight will then take on whoever emerges victorious from the July 2 clash between Hughie Fury and Michael Hunter, which would set up a contender to challenge the WBA’s super heavyweight champion down the line. While that is currently Oleksandr Usyk, he is due to fight Anthony Joshua in a rematch, and the winner there could then go on to face Tyson Fury to settle the undisputed question.

"I want to make a statement in devastating fashion. By any means necessary, but I'm looking to make a statement," Dubois said to Sky Sports.

"This is an important fight. It's a fight for my career and I've gotta fight my heart out, go in there and do the best I can and more.

"I've changed things up. We've made the necessary changes, so I'm all systems ready to go."

The 24-year-old Briton is confident of taking the win against the unbeaten champion, saying: "I'm going 100 per cent confident and ready to do my job.

"It's gonna be a totally different environment and I'm relishing that. I want to just soak it in.

"Camp's going well, and now it's just the final touches. We're ready now - it's just time for the trip."
