Darren Barker makes surprising prediction for a potential Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk clash

Darren Barker makes surprising prediction for a potential Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk clashMatchroom

For Oleksandr Usyk, there was only one name on his mind after beating Anthony Joshua by split decision this past weekend, and that was WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Usyk, who holds the IBF, WBA and WBO world heavyweight titles is only interested in an undisputed fight, if it cannot be made, then there is a chance the Ukrainian may hang up the gloves for good.

If Usyk and Fury were to meet, it would be a fascinating fight between two men who are known for slick and elusive movement inside the ring.

This was something mentioned by DAZN Boxing analyst and former world champion Darren Barker who gave his thoughts on the fight.

"I can make a case for both," Barker told DAZN when asked to give a predicition on a potential undisputed heavyweight showdown.

"If you’re naturally bigger like Fury obviously is, he would go into the fight as the favourite.

"He’s very elusive, believes in his size and power as we saw in the last fight with Wilder, and Dillian Whyte.

"It would be very hard for Usyk, but I cannot rule Usyk out, it’s very hard to rule either man out when they haven’t been beaten.

"This might sound a little silly, I almost feel in this instance Fury could be too big, and we’ve seen how nimble, quick on his feet and his hands Usyk is, he could be just one step ahead of Fury in every single round."
