Darren Till will return to the boxing ring early next year when he faces Tommy Fury, live on DAZN , at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester
The pair engaged in a vicious verbal exchange last week that threatened to get physical when John Fury squirted water in the direction of Till at a press conference.
Security were quick to intervene as the fighters and their entourages were pulled apart, but there’ll be nobody to stop them when they meet on January 18.
Till, who enjoyed many successes in the UFC, made his boxing bow earlier this year, but his bout was surrounded in chaos following a brawl that took place in the ring.
In Fury, Till is facing a stern test as he goes in with an unbeaten fighter who is the younger brother of Tyson Fury.
Inactive for over a year, Fury comes into the contest with his last bouts taking place in 2023, but he did enjoy a stellar year then as he registered wins over Jake Paul and KSI.
The Liverpool man begins the contest a decent sized underdog, but he’s very confident that he can force a stoppage when the first bell eventually sounds.
“I think technically I’m better than him. I do. I genuinely think people are going to be shocked,” said Till when speaking to Norske Betting Insider .
“I don’t want to give too much away. But I think I’m genuinely going to shock a lot of people. I think I’m gonna break Tommy down in the later rounds—rounds five and six.
“For two years I've been learning a lot off world class fighters; Liam Smith, Josh Taylor, Callum Smith, JJ Metcalf, Dennis McCann, Frankie Stringer, Caoimhín Agyarko, Garry Cully, Piece O'Leary. For two years I've been training with Dec and Joe. I’ve loved every second of it.”
