David Haye enjoyed a winning return to the ring on Saturday night as he defeated Joe Fournier in Florida.

The two friends fought as part of the Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Befort card over eight rounds and the two-division champion was the clear winner.

The 40-year-old Haye sent Fournier to the canvas and it was a much different result from the two defeats in his last two fights, in 2017 and 2018 as he lost on both occasions to Tony Bellew.

The judges scored the fight decisively for Haye, 79-72, 79-72, 80-70.

After the fight a buoyant Haye claimed that he would be willing to continue his comeback only if current WBC champion Tyson Fury would meet him for a long-awaited bout.
