Earlier on Wednesday, DAZN News revealed that Anderson Silva and Tito Ortiz would be boxing on the Oscar De La Hoya-Vitor Belfort undercard. So you can add another notable fight to the event.
It was revealed that former two-division world champion David Haye will come out of retirement to face off with billionaire club owner Joe Fournier on Sept. 11 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles in an eight-round, three-minute fight that is considered a pro boxing contest and not an exhibition.
Haye (28-4, 26 KOs) announced he was stepping away after getting stopped for the second consecutive time by Tony Bellew in May 2018. The 40-year-old left active competition to promote notable heavyweight and fellow Englishman Derek Chisora.
Haye became cruiserweight champion by notching a seventh-round TKO victory over Jean-Marc Mormeck in November 2007. However, he vacated the belts when he moved up to heavyweight in November 2008. In his second fight at heavyweight, Haye defeated Nikolai Valuev via majority decision to capture the WBA crown. Haye made two title defenses before getting dominated by then-unified titlist Wladimir Klitschko in July 2011.
The 38-year-old Fournier has fought no one of value. Fournier (9-0, one no-contest, 9 KOs) began his pro boxing in October 2015 and fought nine times in a 14-month span. After that, he left the sport and went into the nightclub business, where he made his fortune. In April, Fournier then returned to the sweet science on the Jake Paul-Ben Askren undercard, stopping musical artist Reykon in the sixth round.
