Demetrius Andrade: Eddie Hearn needs to get me Canelo Alvarez or Gennadiy GolovkinDAZN
The WBO middleweight champion has laid out his demands for the promoter.

WBO middleweight champion Demetrius has put pressure on Eddie Hearn to get him a big-name opponent after he gatecrashed Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez’s press conference.

33-year-old Andrade interrupted Canelo after the 30-year-old Mexican had secured Billy Joe Saunders’ WBO super middleweight title, only to be told by the victor that he would never be given a fight.

Speaking last week, Matchroom and Andrade’s promoter Hearn, who also works with Alvarez, said he enjoyed Andrade’s stunt, and he has previously talked of his frustration in getting a suitable fight for the American. Speaking to DAZN’s Boxing Show, it appeared that Andrade was also losing patience.

“Eddie Hearn is my promoter, he’s helped me and got me active, making money, putting on how I need to put on,” he explained.

“But as far as helping me into a GGG fight, a Canelo fight, it’s not happening. He tried to help with Jermell Charlo - he offered seven million dollars, no counter offer.

“People see what he did, but I’m not doing this for Eddie Hearn, I’m doing it for me.”

Andrade made it clear that if a Canelo fight is not forthcoming, then a match-up with IBF and IBO middleweight champion Gennadiy Golovkin is one of the few remaining options.

“If Eddie Hearn really appreciates what it is, then what fights do we have to make to get the Canelo fight, and for me, the closest person to that ticket is GGG.

“If GGG doesn’t want to do it, then I’m just going to have to fight somebody. I can’t wait and be old and wrinkly.”
