Deontay Wilder was taken to hospital after defeat to Tyson Fury on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
The Bronze Bomber - and his opponent - both hit the deck more than once over 11 rounds that only came to a close when a fierce right ended Wilder’s participation.
That brought to an end a trilogy rematch that has spanned three calendar years and could set up a fight between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk to decide the undisputed world heavyweight championship in 2022.
After the fight, Wilder was reported to have been taken to the University Medical Center as a precaution after the referee stepped in to prevent any further action.
In the aftermath of the spectacle, Fury claimed that he was the 'best in the world' while Wilder said he did 'not know what happened' to cause his defeat.
