Two former world heavyweight champions, Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker, meet on the December 23 "Day of Reckoning" card in Saudi Arabia in a fight which could have huge consequences.

A win for Wilder will set up a mammoth showdown with Anthony Joshua which is rumoured to take place early next year, while a victory for Parker would be the biggest of his career and could set him on the path towards a world title shot.

Wilder may not be an operator known for his boxing ability, but the American has the ultimate equaliser in his devastating right hand and boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. has highlighted this as something Parker will need to avoid if he is to give himself a good chance of getting his hand raised.

"Joe Parker needs to avoid Wilder's big right hand, if he can do that, he definitely has a chance because Parker is a very good boxer, better than people think he is, but he has to avoid that big right hand because he's shown his susceptible to power in the past and Wilder has the biggest punch in the heavyweight division," Jones told Action Network

"We're trying to get to a Wilder versus Joshua next, and if they both come in prepared and they come in shape, they should prevail."

Many will be backing Wilder to overcome the former WBO world heavyweight champion, but Jones believes Parker could highlight a flaw in Wilder's ability come the opening bell.

"But the biggest threat in either of those fights is Joe Parker because if he can figure out Deontay Wilder's right hand, Joe Parker can really pull off the upset against Wilder, and because he has good boxing skills, he can be a real problem against Wilder who is very one dimensional," Jones continued.

"He can be quite easy to deal with."
