Former undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney is eager to face Britain's Jack Catterall, but claims the fight can only happen if Turki Alalshikh is involved in negotiations.
Catterall continued to cement himself as one of the world's best super lightweights with a unanimous decision win over two-time champion Regis Prograis, with many calling for Catterall to get a second chance at winning a world title.
While no immediate path to a title belt has presented itself, Catterall expressed an interest in facing Haney following his win over Prograis, but Haney sent a warning to the man from Chorley on X.
"Be careful what u ask for.." Haney wrote.
The American then went on to state in another post that Alalshikh, who plays a major role in creating the huge Riyadh Season boxing event, can make a clash with Catterall a reality.
"Only one person could make the fight with @jack_catt93 & that's @Turki_alalshikh," Haney continued.
Haney has only fought once in 2024, and that was his loss to Ryan Garcia in April. This fight has since been ruled a no contest after Garcia tested positive for a PED before and on the day of his meeting with Haney.
