Dillian Whyte predicts 90-10 purse split in his favour for Tyson Fury rematchDAZN
The heavyweight challenger was in confident mood.

Dillian Whyte plans a 90-10 split in his favour when, according to him, he has his rematch with Tyson Fury.

The WBC mandatory challenger has no rematch clause, and neither does Fury, but making such a claim suggests that the 34-year-old Briton is confident that he will win the match this weekend to take the belt off the current champion.

Fury will be defending his title for the second time, and Whyte believes that he is a different proposition than Deontay Wilder as he thinks he is a better boxer than the Bronze Bomber.

Whyte claims he has been in the gym preparing for a number of approaches from the maverick Fury.

"We've had different sparring partners and different things," Whyte told Sky Sports. "We're trying to cover every angle because he's unpredictable.

"He can be unpredictable so we're just trying to be as ready as we can be, trying to create all different kinds of circumstances, different situations so whatever he brings, we'll be ready."

Whyte has been a remote figure during the build-up to the clash and he suggested he was focused on winning the fight first, and then seeing how he was feeling afterwards to lose control.

"One of the biggest mistakes people make is that they wait for something and then when they get there, they just blow up and being too much like 'I'm here, I'm here!' No," he explained.

"I'm trying to get the job done. When I get the job done then I'll start acting crazy but now, I need to be focused on the job. Not 'Wow, I'm here!' Just focus on the job, win the fight, then afterwards you can do whatever you want."

He then drew a contrast between how Fury was approaching him compared to the ‘athlete’ Wilder.

"He didn't respect Wilder, Wilder's an athlete so you treat him like that but with me, he knows different so he's treating me with the respect I deserve and if you give me respect, I'll give you respect. That's it," Whyte stated.

"Tyson Fury will do whatever he does. I was ready for anything. If he wanted to start kicking off, then I was ready for that. If he wanted to be respectful, then I was ready for that.

"(I wasn't surprised) because he knows me and what I'm about, and I know him. He knows the danger I pose, and I know the danger he poses. There's mutual respect there."

Fury is getting 80% of the purse, which was a sore point for Whyte. He joked that for the rematch he would strike an even tougher deal - in his favour.

"It should be 45 per cent but it is what it is, man," he said.. "You can't worry about what others are doing, you need to worry about what you're doing and that's my mindset.

"It is what it is, I can't cry about it. What am I going to do? Start crying and then lose control? No. It is what it is, and the rematch is going to be a 90-10 split!"
