Dmitry Bivol explained how he had reacted to a late switch of opponents for his fight last night.
Bivol was due to fight Artur Beterbiev on Saturday night in Riyadh, live on DAZN , in what would have been an undisputed light heavyweight match-up.
However, an injury to the unified champion meant that he had to pull out, and Malik Zinad stepped in to replace him.
Bivol added a knockout to his resume as he stopped the fight midway through the planned distance, and after the win it was confirmed that he and Beterbiev would be back in October to settle their rivalry.
Many fighters have been upset by late replacements stepping in with new styles, but the analytical Bivol had no such problems.
Speaking after the win, Bivol said he had enough time to get prepared.
"We are professional boxers, we have to change tactics at any moment and I had enough time to change my preparations for a different fighter to Beterbiev," he explained.
"I believe my power was there every time, and I didn't have any doubts.”
