Dmitry Bivol manager teases new date for Artur Beterbiev undisputed fightMatchroom
The two light heavyweight champions were originally set to meet tonight.

The undisputed light heavyweight clash between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol was set to be one of the biggest fights of 2024.

The two light heavyweight champions were scheduled to finally meet for all four belts tonight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but an injury picked up by Beterbiev in training camp saw the contest postponed to the dismay of the boxing world.

Bivol will still fight tonight, but he will be defending his WBA 175lb title against the undefeated Malik Zinad live on DAZN

As long as Bivol successfully defends his title, plans will immediately be made to set a new date for a showdown with Beterbiev and Bivol's manager, Vadim Kornilov, gave an update on when the contest could take place.

"There’s been discussions of October, November, but definitely before the end of the year," Kornilov told Boxing News

"Right now we’re focusing on tomorrow night, after that I’m pretty confident it will happen.

"His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has mentioned before this is one of the most exciting fights that he’s been waiting for. I really think that he’s been waiting for this fight personally, once he wants something he doesn’t let it get away.

"So I think it will be done."
