Dmitry Bivol is more than ready to move down to super-middleweight if Jermell Charlo can cause a huge upset against Canelo Alvarez.
Charlo, the current undisputed ruler at 154lbs, jumps up two weight divisions next month as he looks to become only the third man to defeat the Mexican icon.
Bivol, who along with Floyd Mayweather, holds a win against Canelo, has been linked to a rematch with his old rival, but he is also willing to face Charlo.
The current light-heavyweight champion has not fought in 2023 but he will be watching closely on September 30 when Charlo and Canelo do battle.
“Yeah, if Charlo wins, I would like to fight him,” said Dmitry Bivol when speaking to FightHub.
“It’s not like, ‘Oh, I want to fight against someone at 168’. No, I prefer to fight in my weight class.
“But if someone wants and we have a good offer to move down for the [super-middleweight] belt, I will do it, but I prefer to fight in my weight class.”
