Dmitry Salita compares Jermaine Franklin to world champion ahead of potential Anthony Joshua clash

Dmitry Salita compares Jermaine Franklin to world champion ahead of potential Anthony Joshua clashDAZN

Anthony Joshua is expected to face Jermaine Franklin in his first fight since losing to Oleksandr Usyk for a second time last Summer.

The next 12 months will be a rebuild for Joshua who will be looking to establish himself again as top contender in the heavyweight division.

For Franklin on the other hand, this will be his second successive visit to the UK after losing to former world title challenger Dillian Whyte in November and his promoter Dmitry Salita claims that the American can cause problems for the former two-time world heavyweight champion.

"Jermaine has a lot of similarities to Ruiz and to an extent, Usyk. He's not a big guy, he's a small guy like them, he has a very good chin, he wants to and will take risks, he's a combination puncher with fast hands," Salita told Best Sports Betting Canada

“He's a good puncher - not an incredibly big puncher - similar to Ruiz and we remember how that ended. When the going gets tough in there and Joshua tries to test Jermaine's chin, that will play into Jermaine's hands.

“Jermaine will put it all on the line, give it his all. Whyte was a life changing opportunity and this is even bigger and he’ll be even more prepared.”
