Eddie Hearn has confirmed that Manny Pacquiao wants to fight Conor Benn when the Brit returns to the ring this summer.
Multiple names have been mentioned to be in the opposite corner to Benn including Chris Eubank Jr and Kell Brook, but it’s been made clear by Hearn that Pacquiao is definitely ready to end his retirement and face Benn.
An announcement on Benn’s next fight is expected to be imminent and it’s highly likely that the bout will take place in America or the Middle East.
Benn has been built into one of British boxing’s biggest names in recent years and after attracting the attention of Pacquiao, Hearn has provided an update on what will happen next.
“He wants the fight. Manny Pacquiao wants the fight,” said Hearn when speaking to Tony Bellew on a recent DAZN Boxing Show.
“It’s an expensive fight and it’s a great fight. We’re in talks with a number of countries to stage that fight at the moment. Conor wants that but Conor wants Eubank, that’s personal now.”
