Eddie Hearn advises fighter to schedule a bout before facing Ryan Garcia

Eddie Hearn advises fighter to schedule a bout before facing Ryan GarciaGolden Boy
Hearn has offered some advice to one boxer.

Eddie Hearn has called on Devin Haney to schedule himself a fight before stepping back into the ring with Ryan Garcia.

Earlier this year, Garcia dropped Haney three times before winning on the scorecards, but the result of the bout was later changed to a ‘No Contest’ after Garcia failed a pre-fight drug test.

Despite the amendment made to the outcome, the action still took place and there’ll be concerns regarding Haney’s resolve after suffering in the bout.

The former undisputed lightweight champion had been a big favourite going in, but it’s likely the odds will be a lot closer if the pair decide to participate in a huge rematch.

Hearn, who has promoted several Haney fights, believes his former charge should take part in a fight before revisiting his battle with Garcia.

Haney hasn’t fought since his showdown with Garcia, and it doesn't look like the sequel can take place before the summer, so the Matchroom boss insists Haney should remain active.

“I think Devin needs to get himself together and get a fight scheduled,” said Hearn when speaking to Fight Hub TV

“Everyone is talking about the potential Ryan Garcia fight. Potential? What is that, May, June, July? In my opinion, he needs another fight before he goes into another fight,” said Hearn when speaking to Fight Hub TV.

“In my opinion, needs another fight before he goes into a big fight. So, if I’m Devin Haney right now, I’m scheduling my fight, whether that’s in Vegas. He’s a big name still.

“I know he had the defeat or not the defeat against Ryan Garcia, but he’s still a big name in the sport.”
