Eddie Hearn has no issue insisting that Canelo Alvarez’s imminent trilogy bout with Gennadiy Golovkin is a bigger fight than Errol Spence vs. Terence Crawford.

The Matchroom boss joined The DAZN Boxing Show this week following a hectic schedule that has seen him arrange deals in four continents with his current focus being on Canelo against ‘GGG.’

Hearn has spent the last few days in America publicising the huge super-middleweight clash, but the topic of boxing’s leading welterweights was presented to him by Ak and Barak.

The talented pair are in discussions for a meeting later this year, but Hearn is adamant that the event he’s promoting on September 17th, live on DAZN and DAZN PPV in most parts of the world, is the more marquee event.

“Spence vs. Crawford, what a fight. Neither fighter has done a moderate PPV number,” said Hearn.

“When you’re talking about a guy like Canelo who consistently does 600k, 700k, a million, and you talk about global reach, you can’t compare the fights.

“In boxing, in that community, it’s a lot closer than it is to the whole wide world.

"In boxing, they’re both outstanding fights, but one is a fight between two legends, and one is a fight between two outstanding elite champions.”

Canelo vs. GGG 3 will air live on DAZN or DAZN PPV worldwide except Mexico, Latin America and Kazakhstan. For more information, click here. To sign up for DAZN now, click here. And you can watch the full Eddie Hearn interview on DAZN here.
