British boxing fans rejoiced on Wednesday with the news that Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. will finally meet inside a boxing ring.
Confirmed by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh , a deal between the two rivals has been agreed with a date and venue yet to be confirmed.
Just like the cancelled bout in 2022, the weight at which the fight will be contested has become a major topic of conversation amongst fans and those involved with the fight.
Speaking to The Stomping Ground , Benn's promoter Eddie Hearn, has confirmed the weight at which the fight will be fought at with his fighter moving up two weight divisions to make this British grudge match a reality.
"The weight is at 160 which is Chris Eubank’s weight, it’s a much better hydration for him this time than it was last time," Hearn said.
"Conor’s coming up two weight classes, Conor’s a welterweight, he’s coming up to fight a middleweight.
"Nothing is unreasonable in the contract."
For Benn, this will end what has been a prolonged period of inactivity following his win over Peter Dobson in February, whilst Eubank Jr. fought in October with a seventh round stoppage victory against Kamil Szeremeta.
