Eddie Hearn has unveiled a list of possibilities at 175lbs as the division hots up following Artur Beterbiev’s recent win over Anthony Yarde.
Light-heavyweight is currently one of boxing’s best divisions, and a fight between Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol for the undisputed title is currently one of the most eagerly anticipated bouts in the sport.
As well as the leading two fighters, a top-quality support cast also exists and there’s numerous challenges that await both champions in the division.
Yarde will be ready to go again, Callum Smith wants his shot, and there’s also Canelo Alvarez. Hearn has had his say on 175lbs and how things could play out in between now and the end of the year.
“Dmitry Bivol against Joshua Buatsi in the spring, and then Bivol fights Canelo at 168 for undisputed, and then straightaway fight Beterbiev for undisputed, or Callum Smith at 175 as well,” said Hearn when speaking on The DAZN Boxing Show.
“There’s so much that can happen. Listen, Bivol may want to go into an undisputed with Beterbiev. Obviously, we have Callum Smith, we’ve got Bivol, and we’ve got Canelo Alvarez. This is where it gets exciting because we’ve got some massive fights at 175,”
