Eddie Hearn admitted that Katie Taylor's win over Amanda Serrano could have gone either way after the former prevailed once again in her rematch with her rival.
The pair delivered another fantastic fight that lived up to the instant classic status of their first clash back in 2022 at Madison Square Garden when they met at AT&T Stadium.
On the undercard of Jake Paul and Mike Tyson's clash, Taylor was deducted a point for excessive head contact in the eighth round, but still took the fight 95-94 on all three cards.
The choice proved unpopular among those in attendance, with Serrano's corner unhappy over the decision, having previously lost their first encounter in New York two years ago.
Speaking afterwards, Matchroom boss Hearn agreed with the judges' decision, but concurred there was a case for others to see it as a draw or win for Serrano too.
"I thought the scorecards were spot on," Hearn told Boxing News. "95-94, I thought she just slightly outboxed in the first half of the fight, and slightly outfought her in the back end.
"Both fighters were fantastic. Serrano is a legend of the sport, she's a tremendous decision. If it was a draw, or it was 95-94 the other way, you could see it.
"I didn't think they'd give it to us. It felt like it was against us all week, you could feel in the arena it was against us. I think we just deserved it in another thriller."
Taylor suggested she was open to a potential trilogy bout with Serrano in the aftermath, though it remains to be seen whether the Puerto Rican will want a third fight.
Another option for the Irishwoman could be Chantelle Cameron, who is seeking a trilogy of her own with the star after suffering a first career loss in their second clash.
