Derek Chisora is unlikely to make a fight with Deontay Wilder, but his promoter Eddie Hearn believes there could be a bout on the cards against Luis Ortiz.
“It was only a throwaway comment from me saying if the fight went four or five rounds, I think he’d beat Wilder,” he said.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Hearn explained that he did not entirely endorse his previous comments when he claimed Chisora would beat the Bronze Bomber.
However he went on to claim that there were talks about putting Chisora up against Cuban fighter Ortiz, saying: “But it’s obviously a very dangerous fight at the same time. There’s been a few talks about Chisora against Luis Ortiz, with those guys. and I like that fight.
“Chisora against [Chris] Arreola. Chisora against Zhang Zhilei. He’s never in a bad fight and he wants to fight. He wants the biggest fights out there and we’re trying to find him one.”
Chisora’s last outing came against Joseph Parker in November, when he lost his rematch against the former WBO world champion.
