Eddie Hearn lines up light heavyweight title fight: 'We want Buatsi to fight Bivol'DAZN

Eddie Hearn is aiming to set up a fight between Dmitry Bivol and fellow light heavyweight Joshua Buatsi.

Buatsi last fought in May with an impressive victory over Craig Richards, and is ranked No. 2 by the WBA.

Bivol is currently the WBA champion at 175lbs and most recently defended his strap, also in May, when he defeated Canelo Alvarez.

With Alvarez moving onto a trilogy rematch against Gennadiy Golovkin, shown in many countries live on DAZN, Bivol may have to wait for another challenge from the Mexican. In the meantime another fight needs to be made and Matchroom head Hearn has identified Buatsi as an option.

Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans, Hearn said: “We want Buatsi to fight Bivol.

“We’ve made an offer now to Buatsi to fight Bivol, which we want to make sure he’s happy with and hopefully we can make that fight.

“It’s not done yet, it’s not signed, but we’re seeing if we can make the numbers work.”
