Jack Catterall has plenty of opportunities in front of him after levelling the series with Josh Taylor, but his promoter is targeting a world title.
Catterall was declared the winner after 12 hard rounds and with many believing the fight was close, a third bout could be possible.
For Hearn, he would like the opportunity for Catterall to become world champion after he fell short against Taylor in 2022.
140lbs is home to numerous high-quality operators and immediately after watching Catterall take the nod against Taylor, Hearn spoke on what could be next for his fighter.
“He deserves to be world champion. That’s got to be the focus,” said Hearn when speaking to DAZN following the contest.
“We’re deep at 140. We’ve got Subriel Matias fighting Liam Paro coming up. We’ve got Devin Haney fighting Sandor Martin coming up. I’d like to see this guy [Catterall] challenge and win a world championship.”
