Eddie Hearn has admitted that Matchroom should've insisted on a rehydration clause when Devin Haney went up against Ryan Garcia earlier this month.

Garcia dropped Haney three times before winning on the scorecards, but an issue at the weigh in has put some scrutiny on the result.

Despite his brilliance in the bout, Garcia received some criticism on the eve of the fight when he weighed in over 3lbs above the 140lbs limit.

That meant he couldn't win Haney’s WBC title, but Hearn believes they should’ve made Garcia weigh in again on the morning of the fight at an agreed limit.

“From Matchroom’s side, we felt there should have been a reweigh on Saturday,” said Hearn when speaking to Boxing News

“It was chosen not to be pushed, and I feel that [was a] mistake.”
