Eddie Hearn is keen on making an all-Irish fight between Paddy Donovan and Lewis Crocker at welterweight.
The pair shared the same bill last month as they continued their march up the rankings and a bout between both men would likely do huge business in Ireland.
With the recent success of Katie Taylor’s epic showdowns with Chantelle Cameron and a wealth of young Irish talent emerging, Hearn has high hopes for the region.
Donovan vs. Crocker could be his next instalment in boosting Irish boxing and he’s hopeful that he can get the fight over the line soon.
“It has to happen this year 100%. It’s just is it next or the one after? That’s all I’m thinking,” said Hearn when speaking to Irish Boxing.
“Like we have a chance here to do a real classic all-Irish fight. Plus, if these guys are going to go on and be special, be elite they’ve got to and beat each other.
“We have got to look at going to Limerick with Paddy, maybe that’s a Next Gen card, maybe look at Lewis having a run out on the Katie Taylor undercard. Let’s not waste the opportunity to make an Irish classic between Crocker and Donovan.”
