Eddie Hearn has revealed who should be in the opposite corner for Oleksandr Usyk's next fight and it’s not Daniel Dubois.
The London contender who holds a minor version of the WBA heavyweight title has emerged as a frontrunner to face Usyk later this year, but Hearn believes that it should be Joe Joyce getting the opportunity.
With Usyk the holder of three heavyweight titles, the Ukrainian is in demand as he must satisfy the requirements of three governing bodies.
Joyce is the WBO interim champion following his stoppage of Joseph Parker last year and that’s the man Hearn thinks has done the most to deserve a crack at the unbeaten champion.
“I like Daniel Dubois, but who on earth has he beat to become mandatory for Oleksandr Usyk?" asked Hearn when speaking to IFLTV.
“Trevor Bryan, Kevin Lerena & Bogdan Dinu.
“Fair play to him [Dubois], but I think Joe Joyce should be getting a shot well ahead of him, but good luck to him.”
