Eddie Hearn believes that Terence Crawford could walk away from boxing if he can’t secure a bout against Canelo Alvarez.
The Nebraska man has been linked to a battle with Canelo for well over a year, but it doesn't appear like the fight is getting closer.
The Mexican icon defends his world titles at super-middleweight against Edgar Berlanga on September 14, live on DAZN.
If successful, Canelo may consider a contest with Crawford, but he won’t be short of options across several weight classes.
Crawford is another fighter who has plenty of possibilities across multiple divisions, but Hearn believes he’s only interested Canelo.
“I don’t think Crawford wants a Boots fight,” said Hearn when speaking to Matchroom regarding what Crawford may do next.
“I don’t think Crawford will fight again unless he fights Canelo Alvarez because he’s got money, he’s getting on.”
