Will the heavyweight dream fight happen next year?

Eddie Hearn has identified two new possible venues to stage Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder if the fight doesn’t head to Saudi Arabia.

There had been wide speculation that the eagerly anticipated contest was close to being finalised for early next year, but it now appears that fight may be pushed back with Joshua potentially fighting again in December.

If Saudi Arabia doesn’t host the fight, then where could the bout go?

The rivalry between the pair has been in existence since 2015 and it’s certain to be a packed house regardless of where it takes place.

Hearn has recently spoke on the matter and has provided an update on where the battle could be staged.

“I’d love to look at that fight in Las Vegas. I’d love to look at that fight in Wembley [Stadium],” said Hearn when speaking to Talksport. "I think it would be incredible, but there is a chance that AJ may fight in December.

“If we can’t lock that in for January, maybe we push it to March or April and look at alternative venues. There’s other sites that want that fight, sometimes the more traditional sites will create a huge event.”
