A trilogy fight between Mauricio Lara and Josh Warrington looks likely according to Matchroom's Eddie Hearn.
After Lara beat Leigh Wood on Saturday night to claim the WBA world featherweight title, the Mexican immediately went over to Warrington who was ringside in Nottingham and the pair engaged in a heated verbal exchange.
This flashpoint has added further malice to a long-running rivalry and now a trilogy fight between the two is the next logical move according to Hearn, but it all depends on whether Wood decides to call rematch with the Mexican.
"If we don’t do the rematch that’s the only fight we would look to," Hearn told The DAZN Boxing Show.
"The first fight was in the bubble, it was just the most thrilling, dramatic, probably the most harrowing moment I’ve witnessed in boxing. No sound, no noise, it was just horrible.
"Then the rematch was a huge event in front of 20,000 at Headingley, got cut short with a head clash, so the third fight is a natural fight.
"A big stadium fight, it’s a chance for Josh Warrington to become a three-time world champion which is unusual, but there’s a nice little mix in there."
