Eddie Hearn thinks that Derek Chisora is one win away from a fight against Dillian Whyte or Deontay Wilder as the former takes on Kubrat Pulev on Saturday, live on DAZN, for their second fight in six years.
The 41-year-old Pulev defeated the 38-year-old Chisora in their first match-up, and this is conceivably the last professional fight for whoever comes off worse this weekend. Hearn praised the pair, but especially Chisora, for their commitment.
“I think Derek has matured a bit,” he stated on the DAZN Boxing Show. “He’s a family man. But they're both crazy, total lunatics. He talked about his kids coming to his fight for the first time in his career. He was like, ‘I’m so desperate to make sure I win. It would kill me if they saw me lose.’ He’s so motivated.
“I think that he is a proud man. I love Derek because he’s so honest. I said, ‘You know if you beat Kubrat Pulev, you could land a massive fight. You’re only one win away from [Deontay] Wilder or [Dillian] Whyte again. But you’re also one win away from people saying, ‘That’s your lot, mate’. You know when you turn into a Derek Chisora fight, he will give you every ounce of his soul.”
