In hindsight, Eddie Hearn has reason to believe that the Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury undisputed heavyweight championship fight falling apart was purposely done by Fury and Top Rank.
"I think it was pretty intentional," Hearn told DAZN's Chris Mannix before the Devin Haney-Jorge Linares fight Saturday night in Las Vegas.
He added: "AJ felt that Fury never wanted to fight. I don't know."
At this point, Hearn said that Joshua, the unified world heavyweight champ, wants to lock in a bout with mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk soon.
Then, as long as Joshua is victorious, Hearn can revisit an undisputed championship showdown with Fury. Although, the Matchroom Boxing promoter is already a bit leery.
"I don't particularly trust people on that side," Hearn said about Fury and Top Rank. "Some people couldn't let that fight happen. They wanted to keep some kind of control.
"When they say, they might want (the fight) in December," Hearn continued, "who knows?"
