Eddie Hearn teases 'big plan' for Conor Benn after Chris Eubank Jr. talks collapseDAZN
Eddie Hearn is plotting a 2024 roadmap for the British star.

It looks like one of 2024's biggest fights will not take place after talks between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. collapsed.

The pair were set to meet last year, but an adverse finding in a Benn drugs test resulted in the contest being cancelled, but plans were afoot to make the fight for early 2024.

Now both men are set to go their separate ways, and Benn's promoter Eddie Hearn revealed when fans can expect his fighter to return to the ring.

"We’ve got to focus on Conor Benn now, February 3rd, he wants all the big fights, but it’s going to be very difficult to make some of them, but he will fight February 3rd and we will announce it next week," Hearn told Boxing News

A number of names have been linked with facing Benn including American super lightweight Mario Barrios and Hearn confirmed that this could be an option.

"That might be the ideal opponent, but whether he’d take the fight, who knows," Hearn said.

"There’s a big plan for Conor Benn, this kid has a huge ceiling in the sport. He’s still young, but he wants the biggest fights now.

"He wants to fight Devin [Haney], we are at an early stage of negotiations for that fight, he wants to fight “Tank” Davis, he wants to fight “Boots” Ennis and he will do.

"But they are really tough fights and I see Conor Benn with another five, six years in this sport, but he’s keen to make up for lost time."
